Leave a Legacy Through Life Insurance
A life insurance gift is a powerful and accessible way to support ethical wildlife conservation far into the future. Whether you’re creating a new policy or updating an existing one, your commitment helps us give apex predators a voice for generations to come.
Why Consider a Life Insurance Gift?
In addition to making a lasting difference for wildlife, a life insurance donation can offer:
- Substantial impact from modest payments – A policy with a large payout can be established with relatively low monthly or annual premiums.
- Immediate or future tax benefits – Depending on how your gift is structured, you or your estate may receive charitable tax receipts that reduce your tax burden.
- Privacy and protection – Life insurance gifts are not subject to probate, estate debts, or legal challenges. They’re handled separately from your will, offering clarity and certainty.
- Flexibility and control – You can choose how much coverage to give, whether to create a new policy, or modify an existing one.
There are three ways common ways to give a life insurance gift:
1 | Create a New Policy in EWC’s Name
You can establish a new life insurance policy and name Exposed Wildlife Conservancy as the owner and beneficiary.
- You’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for the cash value of the policy and for each premium payment.
- This option allows you to give a meaningful future gift while receiving annual tax benefits.
2 | Name EWC as the Beneficiary of an Existing Policy
If you have a policy you no longer need to support your family, you can designate EWC as the full or partial beneficiary.
- Upon your passing, the policy proceeds go directly to EWC.
- Your estate will receive a tax receipt for the value of the gift, which may reduce taxes owed.
3 | Transfer Ownership of an Existing Policy to EWC
You can transfer an existing policy to EWC and receive a charitable tax receipt for its current cash value.
- If you continue to pay premiums, you’ll also receive receipts for those payments.
- This method provides both immediate and ongoing tax savings while establishing a significant legacy gift.
